Assam proposes raising lawmakers’ salaries by up to 50%

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary presented three Bills in the Assam Assembly in such manner.

As per the Bill for raising the payments of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, their compensations will be raised to ₹1.2 lakh and ₹1 lakh every month from the current ₹80,000 and ₹75,000, an expansion of half and 33.33%, separately.

Other than the pay part, both will get ₹30,000 as parliamentary help and sumptuary remittances, it included.
